A woman who swore by the cheap makeup has recently changed her tune after testing higher-end products.
Expensive isn’t always better, as some influencers claim they see noticeable differences in their skin using drugstore brands. Sofia Richie, however, says her secret to glowy skin is a tool that costs over $2,000.
The answer might depend on the user. One woman recently tried several name brand products, detailing which are worth the extra money.
Jill Robbins, reviewer for Business Insider, tried three luxurious brands that she now says she’ll continue buying.

One of them is the Tom Ford Traceless Soft Matte foundation. The product went viral on TikTok a while back, and now Robbins says she knows why.
“I saw this ‘Instagram filter for your face’ everywhere when I was watching makeup-review videos, so I tried it even though I only wear foundation for pictures or special occasions when I want to look extra finished.”
The foundation lasted the whole day without any need for touch ups, Robbins said. It also goes on smoothly and blends very easily.
It retails at Sephora for $85.

Another $85 must-buy is La Mer’s The Concealer. Robbins said the product conceals under eye circles better than any other she’s tried.
Robbins claims: “It doesn’t cake or settle into the lines around my eyes and blends easily.”
She said it’s sold at Sephora but often out of stock due to popularity. But she found it at Nordstrom.
Westman Atelier Eye Love You mascara is the last product Robbins splurges on. She said of all the expensive makeup products, this is the one she’ll consistently buy.
It gives her thicker lashes, plus it comes in a large tube, giving you more for your buck. The mascara can be found at Sephora for $58.
